Living in Washington, DC, Tiera is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications at the award winning School of Continuing Studies at Georgetown University. Tiera aims to apply her passion and studies to an exhilarating career as a communications professional. She is currently open to new opportunities to build mutually beneficial professional relationships in communications, publica relations, or consulting. 

 

​Initially, Tiera studied broadcast journalism during her undergraduate career, as she knew her strength was speaking to the masses. Following the journalism path at Hampton University, she realized that merely circulating information was not enough. As a natural agent of change, Tiera longed to work in influential communications, that help to transform lives from the inside out. "Ideas are like tiny lights, that with proper stimulation can grow into a burning need for action," said Tiera. She wants her work to ignite that type of feeling and spark an undeniable need to react. That is the essence of public relations and the reason behind her love for the field.

Tiera has gained valuable professional experience during her time as a communications specialist for a non-profit housing agency in her home town, Atlanta, Ga. She also learned the ins and outs of several areas in the media industry during internships at  WTKR-CBS local news, Fox Sports South, and Scripps Networks Digital.
